Anyone for some Rootbeer?

Re: Anyone for some Rootbeer?

Jeff H, another quote of Einstein that I like..."Blind trust for authority is the greatest enemy of truth".

Hey Doc, I really like that quote a lot as well. I've always been a fan of simple quotes that get straight to the point and Einstein was especially good at that, IMO. I think you and I are on the same page with quite a few things.

Mark Twain is another one that gets right to the point too.

Yes he is. I've read several of his books and I like his writing style and choice of vocabulary when making a point or being descriptive. I wish I had some of that ability, but sadly it isn't so.

Mark Twain is one of my all time favorite writers. I wouldn't say he was always straight to the point, however. Well, maybe he was straight to the point, but he wasn't direct (does that make sense?). He certainly did not hold back on expressing his opinions on social and political issues, but he used satire and quite often wrote metaphorically.

Yes, I know exactly what you mean. He had a dry yet quirky way of getting his point across.
It’s been a while since I’ve read his work....might be time to revisit.
