I'm really wanting another SSL 5 Custom Stagger pickup for one of my strats and was wondering if someone has one they'd sell me? E Bay has them for $50 w/free shipping,but a used cheaper one would be great!

Oh very cool Artie! I used to own a complete SSL6 set that I sold to a forum member(Can't remember who now)? :laugh2:
I Like the SSL5/6 alot and I guess it's a great in between of the Twangbanger and the SSL3? I think the SSL3 "might" be a bit too much for me and that I Might lose some note articulation?
That pup should be rich in forum bro mojo. It used to be mine. Maybe I can come and visit it.
Edit: On second thought, that may not be mine. I believe I traded a neck version to Garrett.

Thats hard for me to say, John, because our playing situations are so different. You play "live" with some good tube stuff, while I'm a bedroom-wanker with SS and "studio" stuff.
When we meet for the show, I may just bring my whole Strat to let you play with for awhile.

Actually the amp I use when our band plays out,is my Vox Valvetronix head into a 2x12 Vox V30 cab or my Marshall V30 4x12 depending on where we play.....Just 2 12AX7s in this amp,but I Love it's versatility and it does get pretty convincing tones..
I'm lefty as you know and won't be able to play your righty axe....:yell:

No problem though. Its pretty easy to pop that thing out. I'll just bring it along.

It's 2 wires and I just either place a 2x4 under about the 12th fret or higher after loosening all the strings,or I just remove the strings from the vintage Kluson tuners and the guard is off very quickly..Takes me longer to re-string and re-tune! :laugh2:
I really do need to try that SSL3 out though! Curly loves it and alot of members use it also.

Artie.....It's your call buddy? If you don't want to be without it for too long,I'd say send it.I'll install it and try it,and have it for the show....If not it can wait till the show.....
Me and Steve are going on the 27th Artie....We'll leave straight from work at 8 am that morning..Just Steve and I looks like....My other buddy Steve that just got back from Iraq..

Edit: I just thought of something. The show isn't for 3-4 weeks. I could pop it in the mail, and then get it back at the show. Just a thought.
