I have my eye on one of these but haven't see any reviews.
Anyone have an opinion on Fender SCN Noiseless pups?

I've only played the original Fender Noiseless pups. They were nice sounding, but I went with Fat '50's. Check out reviews on Harmony Central. I'ld like to try the new hotter version noiseless (ceramic mag) they have in the Jeff Beck Strat.
Duncan is supposed to be coming out with noiseless Strat pups. Lew and some others here have tried the prototypes and liked them.

I've only played these on Fender gtrs so my input is biased by the model itself- played one with mid boost (clapton model?) that was superb- Noiseless, classic sounds avaiable and more modern (bardenish) sounds as well-
But also played them in other models that didn't feel or sound as great-
there's just so much varibility with F and G these days-

The active circuit might have a lot to do with it, but I find the vintage noisless in the clapton model to be very nice no-hum single coils. The voicing is very vintage but with a little more compression than a typical vintage tone.

The Noiseless models in the current Clapton strat seem to work fine with the onboard pre-amp but seem a bit weak without it.
The SNC's are a completely different design from both the existing Fender Noiseless (alnico V) or the Lace Sensor type pup's.
They are supposed to pass on a touch more mids than Bill Lawrence L280's. The L280's are pretty much spot on to an early 60's strat pickup in tone. If they can be set closer to the strings in a passive arrangement, as the L280's can be, then they would be very usefull indeed.

I have the SCN pups in my HSS deluxe strat. The 2 single coils are very sweet sounding. Not what would consider 'hot', but more mellow with a focus more in the midrange. It matches very well with the bucker in the bridge. The bucker in the bridge is not very 'hot' either, but has really sweet 'singing' tone. The s1 swtich further helps these pup blend together.
In summary, I guess if UR looking for a warm mellow vintage tone that really sings, I think you'll like these pups.

I have a Deluxe V-neck Strat with 3 SCN's and S-1 switch. I like them a lot. The neck pickup is warm and full sounding with some real growl on the wound strings. The bridge pickup is among the best Strat bridge pickups I've used, again with a nice full tone. The middle is well-balanced, but I'm sure the 2/4 tones are not as clucky as some people would like. However, the 2/4 positions with the S1 switch engaged are very cool tones -- the N/M position has strong low end and an acoustic-like high end, while the B/M position sounds very natural and Stratty in a most unique way -- like a long lost Strat tone from some vintage master recordings. Anyway, they sound pretty cool.
