Anyone have any experience furman pedalboards?

I've been working on re-covering a Pedal Pad AXS pedalboard...but its turning out to be a real hassle, and I'm not really sure how well it'll work out for me when I get it all done.

The Furman is expensive...but its got a couple of features I really like. With the 8 isolated 9V jacks, I could sell my pedal power 2. The wheels and luggage handle would be convenient as well...with all the pedals inside my pedalboard gets pretty heavy, and its always a pain in the ass lugging it around.

Anywho...there's not a whole lot of information on the internet about this particular unit as far as real-world applications goes. Just wondering if any of the forum bros on here had this one and what they thought of it?

Never had the Furman, but you could also check on the Pedal Train Pro (although you'd still need to keep your PP2+). I had the PT Pro and thats a great board. I sold it since it was overkill for me.

I have two of the original Furman Pedal Boards, one for electric and one for acoustic.

High heat will cause the velcro to separate from the board. Best to keep it flat. Furman sent me a replacement board after one of mine came unglued.

The pedal power is very good, though I switched my Boss TU-2 to a Boss adaptor--the pedal would sometimes tune inaccurately (sharp) with the Furman 9V supply.

I find it really handy having a couple of extra outlets at the front of the stage (the ones on the pedal board).

I often find that the AC cord is too short, so I just added a 15' cord. The pockets in the nylon carrying case are handy for extra cables, etc.

I go direct from guitar to pedals to amp, and avoid the patch bay. I have my delays wired to the patch bay, and use the patch bay IN and OUT to route the delays to my amp's effects loop. Handy.

Some folks have had trouble with the patch bay jacks, according to the Harmony Central reviews. Re-wiring them with high quality Switchcraft jacks resolves the problems.

The Furman got an Editor's Pick Award in its Guitar Player Magazine. Id say I'm satisfied with the product.

Enough? LOL!

Good luck!

Well, I ended up grabbin one from american musical supply. Was the only place that had 'em in stock. Here's hoping that splurging on the expensive one is worthwhile :fingersx:.
