Anyone have any experience with Dr Z SRZ-65?

What the title says...has anyone owned or spent time playing an SRZ-65?

...or failing that, even tested one out?
 
i played one a few times. michael burks (rip) used one a lot and the band i was playing in was on the same festivals so i got to see him play through it a few times. got to know him well enough, he let me play through it when my band was right before his. good amount of gain but cleans up pretty well when you roll back the volume control. kinda marshally but different, its a loud amp

Do you remember is the master useful enough to keep the volume manageable or does it just have to be loud?

I guess the Dr. Z amps have a name for being really loud, even the lower wattage ones.
 
i remember the master being useful, but we were playing on big outdoor festival stages so it was loud. i cant comment on how it sounds at very low settings, its not a bedroom amp though.

I figure it would be overkill for me.

I have generally been keeping my eye out for possible heads that could deal with small outdoor gigs...I won't need stadium levels though.
 
id think you could dial it back to club level and it would sound good, but its overkill for that type of venue
