Re: Anyone have experience w/ a Gibson LPJ?

Gotta wonder what the J stands for? :smoker:

Re: Anyone have experience w/ a Gibson LPJ?

By that definition, P90s are "plastic pickups" and we all know how yummy those are. :D

No, a P90 with a baseplate mount still has a metal baseplate (dogear). These things are just plastic down to the mount.

But hey don't listen to me, I'm just a Gibson basher according to some on the forum. (usually owners of proper Gibsons with solid rosewood board and real pickups, no pcb and actual paint over fill).

They are covers over a 498/490 set. Im sure ridiculous speculation is more fun on theinterwebz, but anyone can do the research for facts in about two minutes.

FWIW, everybody here has plastic pickups, who owns a humbucker too..those bobbins are not made of wood.

And yes the J is supposed to be the "new junior". Thus why no more Jr.s in the production lineup for 2013.
