Just found out about this fretboard cleaner/conditioner product called Lizard Spit from a friend who highly recommended it so i bought some to try out on my Carvin`s Ebony fretboard. I must say it works very good! I`ve been trying to find a good fretboard product to use and this definitely does the job imo. Anyone ever hear/use this product before? If not,you should at least check it out....good stuff!

Cool! Yeah i think it`s really good stuff and i`ve always used Lemon Oil myself.

Is there a reason you would use anything other than lemon oil or bore oil?

Oh Yes my friend there is a very good reason to use other than lemon scented bore oil.
Virgin Olive Oil nourishes your fretboard and your fingers. It's also expensive..... and we all know that expensive means better !

Then I'm doing it right! : party:

Yes....Lizard Spit seems to work better for me!
Yeah but that's only because you haven't tried " Vomit of Cus cus " Fretboard Conditioner. The new and improved version of which should be available now at your favorite guitar outlet.

I've been using Boiled Linseed Oil since 1965. Never had an issue.

Re: Anyone hear of Lizard Spit Fretboard Conditioner?

I prefer snake oil myself. It's not that different from lizard spit if you think about it.

Re: Anyone hear of Lizard Spit Fretboard Conditioner?

what about one-eyed snake oil?,;),,,,,,at least for the customer's guitars

Re: Anyone hear of Lizard Spit Fretboard Conditioner?

I haven't used it on fingerboards, but it's a good all around guitar polish. Reminds me, my bottle is almost gone. Time to reorder.

Re: Anyone hear of Lizard Spit Fretboard Conditioner?

I still have a half-bottle of dunlop02 left but when it runs out I'll probably just refill that little handy bottle with the Old English used for my Carvin's tung-oil finishes and boards.

The Old English can be had for like $5/pint,,,,probably less in bulk if one really needed that much lol.
IMO it's really no better or worse than the dunlop02,,,,,,,oils, darkens, beautifies,,,,,what more can we want?

Re: Anyone hear of Lizard Spit Fretboard Conditioner?

This thread is from 2008 before the stock market came crashing down, when everybody had money to burn on lizard spit snake oil.

Re: Anyone hear of Lizard Spit Fretboard Conditioner?

Now they're probably selling NOS bottles on CL for half price.

^^^and btw, if you've used the dunlop02 you know about that stupid(IMO) little douchy applicator bs pad,,,,,,,,,just remove it and use your own "applicator". It gets dirty before long anyways, not to mention some reports of it coming off on it's own while holding the bottle upside-down,,,,,,,,what a mess that would be! lol
