Anyone here ever played round with generative synthesis composition? (sounds inside)

TwilightOdyssey

Darkness on the edge of Tone
I first heard about generative composition a couple of months ago and thought it would be amazing to play round with if I ever got to completing my Eurorack. Recent research however has turned up a few software options for creating generative compositions.

I purchased Nodal yesterday afternoon and haven't slept yet. :)

Am loving it. Will post my first composition when I get home tonight.

Anyone else here ever played round with generative synths?

This is what my first composition looks like. It is in the key of Bm.

Here it is. WARNING: If you enjoy things like traditional melodies and harmony DO NOT LISTEN. While I restricted the notes to those found in Bm, it's still not a very easy listen. You have been warned.

Both the drone and the lead are my Mother-32 through a BOSS harmonizer pedal for some detuning, a Mooer ReEcho and Lexicon reverb. Spoken word is a voice actor I hired, then run through Little Alter Boy by SoundToys.

Sounds like it could be in an 80's slasher ... I dig it.

Thanks for the warning. Have no plans to listen. I prefer the human element.

Well, it does have spoken word ... and the actual synths are being manipulated in real time by mine own hands ... but yes, the actual notes are being dictated by a machine and it's choices are sometimes downright bizarre! :)

I dig generative composition. I love Brian Eno's apps: Bloom, Trope, Scape, and Air. Check them out on his app site. Great stuff to fall asleep to or play guitar over.

That's the part that turns me off. Too Orwellian.
Machine generation is Orwellian?

Probably not the best analogy. I just meant I don't like completely machine drive, that's all: Soulless.
