.....I've really been GAS'n for a 12/6 lately!.....first time in a long time in the G.A.S. dept. for me!
Falls into the category of things I've never actually tried! Thinking about getting one of the old Gibson SG dbl necks...(or an Ibanez, if I can find one!).

..any thoughts? (other than they are $$$$$!)

just curious..

I haven't a clue who, but someone on the forum at least used to have one of the Epi SG's. Sorry I can't be of more help!

I have played the Gibson Double neck. It is very heavy and very awkward to play. The swithing system is a little odd also. I was always swithing on the wrong neck. I also played a Yamaha, and an Ibenez. John Mcglaklin(?? spelling) played a Yamaha I believe. It was heavier than the Gibson. The body was almost as thick as a LP. Not a guitar I would want to play for 3 hours standing up OH my aching back!!!

me and my friend are planning a guitar building project - a double neck 6/12 strat from warmoth. I might do a build report on it

Get a Vai triple neck. Go all the way.

Five necks! You can play Cheap Trick tunes.

I recall coming across a double necked Gibson years ago-- very heavy. In fact, it was barely worth the bother to just try it out for a few minutes-- very cumbersome. It would take some time to get the feel for it.
