Anyone Here Use The Evo In Their Guitar?

I have only heard it once when my friend brought over his JEM and plugged in my amp and i really liked what i heard ,
but what does it sound like in a guitar other than a ibanez?

i didnt really like it. kinda bright and too focused, for a shred god with a huge rack it might work fine but not for a blues/rock cat that plugs straight into the amp like me

i can understand it not being good for blues, country, or even classic rock but how about just METAL?
I dont consider myself a shred god,i play more like zakk wylde, michael shenker,
neal schon when doing leads(you know using melody lines as a focus with elements of bluesy pents, and minor scales) and the rhythms are just plain thunderous for a lack of a better word
:laugh2:
so i want a pup that delivers the goods of tighter than tight rhythms and musical focused lead tones?

It will definitely do that. It is one of the most focused and tight pickups I have ever played.

Just keep in mind it is on the brighter side of things....much like a JB...however it packs a little punch.

i have one in the bridge position in my epi LP custom flametop and i can get that schencker "nasal" sound with it. its a very good pickup for leads.and pinched harmonics is a breeze

Very dynamic pickup although it can use a good re-potting after you get it home.
