anyone know about midi amps

Re: anyone know about midi amps

no one knows :(

i have emailed digitech and peavey and no response yet!!!!

Re: anyone know about midi amps

No it would not do anything. MIDI is a language used to communicate from one MIDI device to another. Your footswitch jack is simply an electronic/proprietary logic connection and has no relation to MIDI whatsoever.

Re: anyone know about midi amps

it has a midi input i think...the peavey footpad that originally came with it was midi!?

Re: anyone know about midi amps

yeah.... the original pedal in midi controller, but there hard to find...

If the original footcontroller was midi based, then you can use any other midi controller for your amp. So, yes, you can use that digitech footcontroller to control your amp.

Re: anyone know about midi amps

Yes, it will work. I have a Fender Cyber DeLuxe which uses a MIDI foot pedal. As a matter of fact, the pedal has more function than the amp can handle. I feel like driving an F-16 fighter jet in a taxi mode.

WHOOPS! I googled "Peavey Trans Fex" and they all had proprietary 8-pin footswitch jacks, etc. But I was looking at new amps. So just now I searched Trans Fex Pro and I found your amp. Sure enough it does offer MIDI control and yes, any MIDI pedal will work.

For church, I slave a Digitech RP1 as a MIDI pedal. I don't use the signal at all, I just run the MIDI cable to my rack and use it as a controller. If you want a cheaper alternative to the ControlX you can find any used MIDI pedal, or Behringer has some cheap MIDI controllers, too. But the RP1's sound terrible so I got mine for $30, and you can usually pick them up cheap and just use the MIDI out.
