Anyone know about the new Marshall vintage/modern amps?

-Picked up a copy of UK Guitarist and the ad for next month's issue was all about unveiling the new Marshall vintage/modern amps. Anyone know anything about these?

Nah, just a UK magazine teaser is all I got at this point.

There's one of those 40th anniv stacks at my local dealer next to a Jeff Beck Esquire and a Jimmy Page aged LP. All look fantastic, all stupidly priced.

Re: Anyone know about the new Marshall vintage/modern amps?

I think so, this rumour has been flying around the Marshall Amp Forum for a month or so now- everything from a 4 channel amp to all PTP wiring has been bandied about.
From what I gather, it will replace the DSL/TSL series of amps. One thing that gives creedence to this is the fact that the DSL/TSL retail prices have been dropped quite a bit, plus, dealers don't seem to be getting new ones in, selling out what they have on hand.

Here is the thread posted on the Marshall Amp Forum posted on Aug 30
INFORMATION FROM GOOD SOURCE:
marshall plan to release a new head on november/december!
it will have 4 channels and will be midi friendly.
I also heard that they will stop making the TSL and DSL. (i know they cannot produce at the moment due to environmental legislations from EU) marshall themselves told me that this was up until they can sort it out. but someone else told me that they will stop making them. I also heard word that Adrian Smith (Iron Maiden) bought 6 DSL100s as they are going on tour soon and he is afraid of replacing one on the road during the shortage that shops face at the moment. I am ordering my TSL 100 next week if my trades here will not work and I hope I don't miss a good chance of the new 4 channel head. although i heard that the retail price of it will be somewhere on 1200 GBP.

four channel head? -yawn.

I want a one-two channel head with as little inside as possible.

Re: Anyone know about the new Marshall vintage/modern amps?

4 Channels is a but much, I much prefer 2 channels and solo boost or boost volume. That said, Marshall with MIDI sounds HOT! Marshall, when they get AMBITIOUS usually puts out genius level work - 6100, Jubilee, HW's come to mind.

The HW is GORGEOUS!

Yes, this is what I'd like to see, a dual channel head, but with IDENTICAL channels, not voiced clean/overdrive or clean/bright or bright/normal. Gain, bass, treble, mid, presence, and master for each channel.I could even do with just one master vol. 2 identical channels-Thats all I need.

I'd like to see them reissue the MkIII Master Volumes myself. Those were some kickass amps. One channel, 2 master volumes. The perfect rock and roll amp.
