Anyone know anything about an old Ibanez/Maxon 'Phase Tone' Pedal?

Hey guys.

I've been after a Phaser for a while and today found this blue, MXR shaped Ibanez/Maxon Phase Tone Phaser in a guitar shop in town.

It looks exaclty the same as an MXR Phase90 (except it's blue) with just a speed knob and a switch on the outside. It's not as extreme sounding as a Phase90, but rumour has it that there's a 'trim' control inside the casing to control how deep the phasing effect is.

I just wondered if anyone had any info about this pedal at all, or if anyone owns or has used 1 in the past.

Thanx for any info.

Craig

Craig---I have the Maxon blue reissue (one knob), and it's great. I haven't opened mine up but will tomorrow. You might get some good info at the musictoyz.com forum or here, where he's got an old Ibanez or two: http://www.chrisguitars.com/effects.html

Thanx for the info Falstaff.

After looking at that link you gave me, my pedal looks like this 1 http://www.chrisguitars.com/iban-phasetone-small.jpg but mine has alot more paint chips and looks like it's been to hell and back, lol :D

I tried looking inside the casing for a trim pot, but I couldn't see 1 as the circuit is underneath a black plastic cover. I'll look into it in more depth tomorrow :)

Would you let me know if you find a trim pot on your re-issue please?

Sure thing! As soon as I know, you'll know.

Brow, I just checked and there are no obvious trim pots. If you email Analogman, he might know about the older ones.

The guy from Chrisguitars might help you as well.
