buying a Kay from my work for $20, it's a really old dreadnaught. I think we're all in agreement that no matter what, a guitar for $20 would be fun, even if only for amusemant or tinkering purposes. but what else is there to know about it.
Here's the specs: top crack (Fixable with some gravity clamps and the right glue, got that in the repair shop) bow in neck (not bad, so provided the truss rod isn't shot or already maxed out, that's doable), possible need for a refret (that one's iffy), needs a new set of bridge pins and strings.
sounds like an okay guitar for a total investment of $35, time, and care. I think I'm buying it regardless, just wondering if anyone's got any comments or suggestions as to what would be fun to do with it.
