Hey folks. It's a longshot, but I recently upgraded my mandolin to a Godin A8, so my beginner's one is for sale. It's an A style, and the name on the headstock is Vagabond, but the same Mando is probably sold under a wide variety of names
Nothing special, but it is electric and includes an acoustic-type pickup which is wide enough for a guitar, so it could conceivably be cannibalized for an acoustical-type sound on an electric guitar. I make no claims as to the real-world viability of this idea. In fact, I only just thought of it this very second, as I typed this. If I don't find a buyer, I might try it myself. :>
Anyways, I'm looking for $125 Canadian for it, which translates to $108 USD plus shipping. It's a nice little unit, taking into consideration that it's definitely a beginner's model, and will undoubtedly need a bit of setup work after shipping. Includes a gig bag. It's a long shot, but I figured I'd offer it up in case there's anyone on the board (Canadians especially, since crossing the border will involve duties) who've been thinking of branching out.
Oh, and as a guitar player, I can say that Mandolin is both easy and fun to get into initially, and is an excellent way to improve your speed and dexterity on both instruments as you progress. And because it's tuned in fifths, the scales are an absolute revelation in terms of the way they're laid out. I recommend it to everyone.
