As far as I know every Music Man except the Petrucci model has a narrow fretboard and feels very different than a Gibson. It's really not even comparable to either a 50's or 60's profile from Gibson.
Is that narrowness only on the Luke? I am curious about these music man models but haven't had a chance to play them.

i am a huge fan of the necks on the LUKES.... extremely nice feeling... it is like a comfy strat neck with a thin V shape to it... i believe Steve wanted it to feel like an old strat neck from the late 50's but maybe thinner somehow... but whatever... it is a nice shape for me!!!!
the local shop has 2 in stock and i'm not sold on the colours... one is silver and one is a weird brownish colour... i saw one in Candy Red that got me engine going... i'm not a huge EMG fan either but from what i hear on this guitar they work well... and the trems EB uses is nice too... all in all it's one hell of an axe! I wish to get one with the Piezo's too...
one thing i found out about the newer EB MM Family Reserves with soild Rosewood Necks is they all have the same neck profile... they all use the Silliette neck back shape.. if it is a regular maple neck they are different back shapes per model... but for rosewooed necks they use all the same neck... still a very nice neck!!!!
the only Rosewood neck EB MM has put on their guitars with a different back shape is the Axis Rosewood model from a few years ago... it had the EVH back shape...
Huh! That rosewood necked Luke's neck felt a little different then my Silohuette's neck. I'll have to confirm this over at the EB board.
OK, just checked my inquiry on the EB board...
All solid rosewood-necked EBMM having the same neck profile has been officially proven false. There were several responses (including a few from dealers and one from Sterling Ball himself) saying that the neck profiles on each model are consistent within that model. Wood selection doesn't change the neck profile.
All Lukes have the same profile, rosewood or not. Same for the Axis', the JPs, the Silhouettes, etc.
strange... that is the exact opposite as to what my local EB Dealer is saying

i just EB MM in general.... amazing custom shop quality stuff in the same price range as a lot of other brands normal quality production stuff... but i guess it depends on what a person is looking for... i'm pretty sure my next axe will be an EB...
You just what EBMM in general?
Did you accidentally a Coke bottle as well?
Sorry, I couldn't resist.
Yeah, EBMM guitars and basses are like crack to me. Love 'em.
