Anyone own a Yamaha SG2000 or SG1500?

Santana played one in the 70's on Europa, Moonflower and some others.

I'm curious about the weight and the neck shape, width and feel.

I probably tried one 35 years ago but I can't remember anything about it if I did.

They've gotten pretty expensive over the years. Haven't come across one I can afford online.

IMO, Carlos got a better sound back when he played the Yamaha than he does now playing the PRS.

It's interesting to me that no one I can think of plays one anymore...yet they're very expensive.

$1500 on average and they're now over 30 years old and most look very used.

Anyways, I'm a fan of Carlos' 70's tone and would like to have one if I could find one "cheap".

I had a SG2000 for a bit in the 90's. Heavy, heavy, heavy. Sounded killer and the push/pull pots and pickups actually worked well.
Just too much weight, it was the guitar I always wanted but also the guitar that made me realize that I'm a Fender man thru and thru!
