Anyone play the new peavey V type guitar, looks cool

Re: Anyone play the new peavey V type guitar, looks cool

Looks like the old peavey Vandenberg guitar. Look in ebay for a peavey vandenberg, you might find it cheaper.

Agreed. If you find the old Vandenburg guitar, you will probably be getting the same thing but alot cheaper. I do not know the specs on the new Peaveys, but the look is the exact same. You might even find one real cheap if it is shredder pink!!!! :laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2:

Dunno know if it makes any difference to you but that is one of the only new 'super strat' style guitars i've seen with 24 3/4 scale, unless someone knows otherwise?

I have not played this guitar yet cant even fins a shop that carries it but it looks interesting though i think i would like to try it out just to see what its all about.

I've played this guitar at Sam Ash ... looks great, plays less than great. I think the Vandenberg guitar, which this is based on, was only available in pink, tho, if memory serves ...

Re: Anyone play the new peavey V type guitar, looks cool

Okay, after doing a little research, the Vandenberg model was available from 1988-1992, and had the following editions:

1st edition Standard: Poplar body, Bolt on neck, ebony fretboard, Kahler 2700 Tremolo
2nd edition Standard: Poplar body, Bolt on neck, ebony fretboard, Kahler Spyder Tremolo
a 3rd edition was made with a Floyd licensed Peavey tremolo
Custom: Neck through, Mahagony body, choice of maple or ebony fretboard
Puzzle Piece: same as custom, but different inlays, white or black (rare!)

I've never picked up a guitar off the rack at Ash and been real impressed how it plays, they are rivaled only by GC in their inability to get a guitar on the rack in decent playing condition.

Nothing against Peavey but if you really like that style super-Strat look for an 80's MIJ ESP Horizon, beautiful guitars.

I totally agree, but the price points are dissparate ...

Re: Anyone play the new peavey V type guitar, looks cool

Misread the price on the Peavey site, I put a 1 in front of the 899 MSRP :duh: Sorry.

Re: Anyone play the new peavey V type guitar, looks cool

I think in the 80's or whenever the Vandenburgs came out , that they were available in four color schemes. Black, Pink, Puzzle, and a dream like sequence with moons, or something. I had a buddy that had one, very cool looking guitar, great price, but it played like A S S.......

:)

I have a red 1st edition Vandenberg. It plays good and it's good for what it is, but since I play hardly any metal anymore, it's getting no playing time. The sound leaves something to be desired for the metal I was playing (thrash) but new pups would solve that. If you want to know anything about the guitar just ask me.
