Re: Anyone see the Gibson TV Commercials???
I know a guy...
Anyway, for what it's worth, he runs a small music store. He has a wall of Gibsons, new and used. He saw the ad and said he would have gladly paid to have the name of his store attached to the commercial. What he's worried about is that when Mom comes to the store and says "I'll take that pretty one" and it turns out to be like 2 grand, insted of $200, she won't buy anything.
Now a music depot like, oh, I don't know, GC, sells other pretty guitars that LOOK like they're worth 2 gs, but they're made overseas, and are much more budget friendly. What with Gib$0n being THIS CLOSE to being owned outright by GC, it makes things QUITE BAD for the small store.
I could be wrong.. Many suburbanites are much more prone to charging big ticket things like guitars than I am, plus a place like GC is probably better geared to offer attractive terms tthan a small shop. I could be wrong.
