Anyone tried the Mesa/Boogie Express amps yet?

Re: Anyone tried the Mesa/Boogie Express amps yet?

I played the 5:50 the other day, but when I talked ot the clerk he said that the 5:50 and the 5:25 have a completely different sound. As for the 5:50 I thad a pretty nice tonal range, but didnt really sound as good as any of the other mesas I played (F-30, Dual Rec Solo, Mark IV). Dont get me wrong its a nice amp, and even on the 5W setting it had a nice tone. I personally didnt like it very much, but that may be influenced by the fact that not 5 minutes before that I played a Mark IV half stack, and well considering Ive wanted one of those forever, I may be biased.

I would hope they have a different sound, the 5:25 is el84 and the 5:50 is 6l6!

That's a thread I started a month or so ago that linked to the GuitarOne demo of both amps. I haven't personally tried them out yet though. (I'm very interested in the 5:25 but have no funds)

Anyways, it's not exactly what you asked for, but hopefully it helps.
