Anyone tried the Perpetual Burn with a 250K volume?

Redoing an HSS Strat type. Guitar's voice is pretty neutral - maybe a slight mid hump but not in a nasal way.
250K volume would eliminate needing a Superswitch and simplify the wiring somewhat.

For any who have run the PB with a 250K volume, how did it sound?
Among those who haven't, what would you predict - too dark? or nice and sweet?

id guess it might be pretty good sounding, its not a dark pup so the high end would be a little sweeter but i bet it would sound good

Oddly if you pot it and put a nickel/chrome cover on it the abrasive highs are manageable. Think - the illegitimate love child of a Pearly Gates and a Tele bridge. I tried A2, it was better than stock but - not to my taste. I tried a switch with a 470K resistor to go 500K or 250K- this was better than A2. Finally, potting and adding a cover made it right.

Yah, mine's covered. And potted, AFAIK.
You liked yours best with 250K loading and the cover, yes?

Thanks for the opinions. Will probably try it with 250K.

Then again, I'm itching to try the AT-1. That would definitely need a 500K volume though.
And resistors so the singles see 250. Which in turn would necessitate a Superswitch...
