Anyone try a Seth Lover neck with an A5?

I like the way the Burstbucker pro neck (I think it has an A5 in there) in my LP studio still maintains
clarity and tightness with moderate gain, still sounds good for distorted rhythm neck playing which usually sounds muddy in humbucker guitars.

I tried doing all combination of pickup heights/ pole piece adjust/ with the Seth Lover in my ES-335, but it just still sounds like mush with gain up, granted i do like the solo lead tone.

I read other people have great results with UoA5 or a3/a4, but wouldn't A5 be best if I want to get a similar tone?
I do not play jazz and like bright tight focused neck cleans, so I thought A5 would bring out the most difference in tone.

Also is it easier and cheaper for a tech to swap out a pickup magnet than an entire pickup in a ES-335?
even though seth lovers have covers on them.

The problem you have is an EQ problem. If you EQ the amp for the A5 p'up, when you put a guitar with an A2 in it, it turns to mud. Plus, a semi-hollow has an inherent fuller tone, making things worse.

Solution: create different amp/EQ settings for the different instruments.

Bright, tight & focused=A5; you're on the right track. Sounds less boomy, more mids than the 59N, more like a more complex Jazz.
