Anyone try a Verellen Amp?

Or better yet own one? I like the limited sound clips I could find, but wanted to hear firsthand from someone who either owns one or has tried one. Most interested in the Skyhammer and Meat Smoke. Worth the money? Gig friendly? How versatile is it?

Re: Anyone try a Verellen Amp?

I have a friend that has the channel switcher, I can't remember the name of it. It was awesome until he took it to the local hack to get new tubes and he ****ed it all up. I haven't heard the latest on it yet, but before moron clown shoes-ed it up dude raved about it pretty hard.

Ben Verellen was in Harkonen, who were awesome, plays in Helms Alee, also cool, and Dave from Botch and Narrrows is his brother. Hella street cred.

Re: Anyone try a Verellen Amp?

Sounds like he had the Skyhammer, sucks they jacked it up. Those boys know their stuff it seems. I really want to get my hands on one.

Re: Anyone try a Verellen Amp?

Well helloooooo Mister BUMP!!!

I'm using my ancient necromancer Lucy Diamond powers to resurrect this thread because I just discovered these things and I'm born again HARD for them.

I'm seriously considering having a custom 50watt skyhammer made.

Anybody have anymore experience with these yet??

Re: Anyone try a Verellen Amp?

I just noticed that both Mike Sullivan and Brian Cook of Russian Circles are using them. I'd be interested in checking one out, depending on the cost...

2 Grand for a 2 Channel Skyhammer.

There is a crunch boost switch for the clean channel and he can make that switchable for you if you want.

I keep reading that this kat is totally down to earth and won't condescend to you because you aren't Toni Iommi.

I can't really dig into the youtube videos at work but I know how my night is going to go :D

Re: Anyone try a Verellen Amp?

I saw Russian Circles earlier this year and they had Verellen amps. They sounded DAMN SKIPPY.

Re: Anyone try a Verellen Amp?

Yeah, that's the video I saw. I'm super pumped about seeing them on this tour. (I've probably seen them 6 or 7 times up to now, I'm always parked right in front of Mike, and my mind is blown everytime. ;))

I can't wait to get home and watch that!!!!

Maaaaaaaaaaaaaan....it's only Ten Thirtyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.

Re: Anyone try a Verellen Amp?

I like Russian Circles, but... it's so weird that everyone jerks them off all the time.

Brian Cook was in Botch too.

Re: Anyone try a Verellen Amp?

Arrrrgh....so...I saw the video lastnight and he really didn't play too much.

Also...King Izzo...what do you mean people "jerk them off" all the time??

I didn't realize they were and instrumental band. I'm going to listen to more of their stuff later on when I'm boosting Tomb Raider multiplayer.
