Anyone try an A8/Ceramic combo in a Hot Soapbar?

I'm probably gonna give it a shot; I currently have the A8/A5 in one. Just wanted to know if any of you have tried it or are currently using it, and what it would add or give up? I like the current setup, but if the ceramic would add a tad bit more aggressive and brightness, I might like that better. Thanks.

I haven't myself, but it's a magnet pairing I've advocated for several years.

My P-94 set is an A4/A5 neck and A5/A8 bridge.

It sounds really good in an Epi G-400 Custom.

I wouldn't even try a ceramic mag; I'm the worst Alnico snob that walked this earth.

HTH,

Yeh, me too. Don't like the sound of ceramics at all. Love AlNiCo.

Ceramic/A8 would probably be good for metal and hard rock, which is why I haven't tried it, but someone should.

Awesome! Thanks for the insight everyone. I rarely play hard rock and metal anymore, and am pretty happy with the tone of my a8/a5. I think its just my practice amp's lack of mid controls that is making my guitar tone sound darker than usual.
