Anyone Try The New Satch Pups?

Re: Anyone Try The New Satch Pups?

I have the PAF Joe in the neck of my Ibanez SZ along with a Breed neck model in the bridge. It is my favorite neck pickup so far. It is basically a PAF Pro with a more vintage vibe. Really sweet and round sounding. Lots of players have commented how Dimarzio's descriptions for their pickups are usually dead on, and I agree. The word they use to describe the PAF Joe is "tubular". Very cool pickup. Splits beautifully too.

Hey aldu,

How do you like that Breed neck on the bridge? And why that one instead of the Breed bridge on bridge? :nervous:

I love it. I spoke with somebody at Dimarzio and they reccomended the Breed neck for my SZ, which is a mahogany set neck guitar. Before I'd tried a few different ones including a Steve's Special but they just sounded too thick for that guitar. I posted a reply on your other post about it too. I'll try to post some clips so you can hear it.

Cool. I'd be great if you do that! Thanks man. :bigthumb:

Re: Anyone Try The New Satch Pups?

I have the PAF Joe in the neck of my Ibanez right now, and it's a good pickup, just not as warm as what I'm looking for. It's a great PAF pickup though; great vintage tones...a very toneful pickup. You really feel it.

However, I'm trying a Breed in it because I'm looking for some more gain and warmth in the neck position (for sweeps and fast runs).
