Click to expand... i agree. i just got one recently, and IMO it sounds much better on guitar amps than the SM57, from what i've tried so far. scope ebay for a while, you should be able to get a used one in great shape for no more than $250.

O OlinMusic New member Nov 26, 2006 #5 Re: Anyone use a MD 421 II mic? Using them more to the outside of the cone AND utilizing the Bass Roll Off feature can make a huge difference. I have accidentally made that amp sound "tubby" lol
