Anyone use a Peavey XXL?

So do any of you guys own and use a peavey XXL? I have the stack and I started playing with a new band recently and I we only have one guitar player right now (me). I just think my sound isnt full enough and that thing is noisy!!! here is my set up......Jackson USA sl2h, dk2, dxmg----crybaby-------ibanez tonelock digital delay-----peavey xxl head.
What kinds of settings do you guys use on your xxl's?

I used to use one but, I cant remember what I used to turn the dials to. I am sorry, I wish I could help.

BTW, the sound not sounding full enough? Here is the deal, I used to use my Marshall through the XXL cabinet sometimes (before I had a marshall cab) and it sounded SH1TTY!!! kind of like you described. As soon as I pickedup up a Marshall cab, it sounded sweet. I dont know if it is the wiring in the cab or the speakers but, I didnt like it.

i stand by my XXL 2x12, have a Marshall 2x12 to supplement its sonic assault...

1.The cab might be unsuitable for the job- even if it's a PEAVEY cab, if it's lacking then it's lacking, regardless of what the manufacturer claims. i especially chose a Marshall cab for mine because it has what i want- full-on bass + adequate brashness for Black Metal...

2.It helps if you use a booster- i use MXR's Micro-Amp for a clean boost, connected parallel to the amp.

3.Noise- your amp isn't grounded properly. check your plug, if it's a 2-pin version, then it's the most probable culprit (it came default with the 2-pin plug anyway). changed mine to the 3-pin version & it's silent...
