Anyone use Hot Plate or some type of attentuator?

I know there is a thread going around about this already but I`ve been looking at some Marshalls and 5150s that are screaming loud . I`m wondering if using a some type of attentuator will get me a respectable volume and tone in the house :13:

The THD Hot Plate or Weber MASS seem to be the most popular around here. Yes, an attenuator will allow you to get full Output Tube Overdrive at lower volumes.

I use my Mass all of the time and it's great. I am going to get a hot plate also. I will be able to compare both pretty soon.
