Anyone use humbuckers in your strat for blues?

Ok...So I'm wondering about how far you can change a strat design before you lost that "strat tone." One of those factors is the pickup choice. Are any of you guys using humbuckers (h-s-h) in your strat AND playing blues rock ala Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Los Lonely Boys, Indigenous, etc ?

Any suggestions on some humbuckers that will sound like a nice single coil when split? Basically, I want to put together a custom warmoth strat with vintage looks but modern features.

I use my MIJ 62 RI strat loaded with th EMG DG-20 set for all kinds of music, including blues. :burnout:

Cool Rails. It splits nicely and the split sound gets a nice kind of Texasy sound.

I use 59's in my strat and it covers everything from early Clapton (Blues Breakers) to VH and then some. Some folks claim that it's too bright, but you can over come that by eq-ing your amp. Very versital pickup and my favorite Duncan to date. Mine is wired to a stewmac mega switch for added versitility.

A 59, CC for fatter split tones. Both sound very nice in a Strat. The beautiful mids of the CC really compliment a Strat.

I would love a 2 HB strat, but I hate the way they look - hey, at least I am honest.

Hmmm DG20, need to try that. saw one for sale for $125 and I didn't hear back from the seller because I low called him to $100 hahahah

I love my Strats with humbuckers and own four: one with neck and bridge HB's and three with bridge only HB's.

But they do not anything like a traditional Strat if you put humbuckers in them...they sound more like some kind of Gibson.
