Hi, Does anyone around here use one of the "Coherent Sound In Light" Sophia Tremolos?

I'd like to know of anyones hands-on experience with these tremolos?

Well, it is super pretty, for sure. I would guess it is great for headless instruments, too.

I've watched the video twice. Still don't understand what it's trying to accomplish.

the big thumbwheel adjusts the overall tension on those little spring loaded posts, which are there to make this trem floating but with a bit more stability so you don't go out of tune when palmmuting or with doublestops.

to me, it's just a lot of extra junk that can break down.

Somehow I didn’t get that the posts were spring loaded. Makes more sense now. So it’s basically a more complicated Trem Setter.

What it really does is what happens when you screw the two claw springs screws in or out of the body with a Floyd, only with their wheel you don't ever need a screwdriver and it's much more precise, It doesn't do anything to the spring-loaded posts that hit the body, that's a dif adjustment...

Never even heard of it. I will do some reading, but at first glance it appears to be a solution in search of a problem.

Really what it offers is to take some inconveniences and eliminate some of them and the others it makes much easier to do and without needed tools.

Lile if your spring claw needs to be adjusted which needs a crosshead screwdriver to do BUT the CLS trem to do the same thing you just turn the big wheel on the block and bam you're done...

besides all that I just think it looks really good, And yes I know that is the last thing you should be thinking about when buying something like this...

BUT for now, I'm sticking with what I have because it is working so dam good...

I wonder if it lets you tune to drop tunings and still stay in tune?
(I didn’t watch the video link)

For me, that’s the biggest drawback to ANY floating trem. I need my guitars to be able to play in a couple of different tunings without the need to switch guitars.
All of my current Floyd guitars are blocked so I can drop tune but I’d sure like to have a versatile floater too.

Ok, has anyone had a chance to play one?

Cool things:
-Top/back loading without needing to cut ball ends off, but still locks
-60:1 tuning ratio on the fine tuners, with basically unlimited range (you won’t bottom out needing to unlock, reset the fine tuner, tune, lock)
-Pistons with variable tension to return to “0”. (Can be used in a firm or light setup, the firm allows you to do drop tuning and stay in tune, also double stops in tune.
-Removable, so it can be setup like standard
-Fine tune wheel, once the guitar is tuned and locked, if it drifts flat or sharp due to weather, a tweak of the wheel brings it all back in tune
-The wheel can also be used to block the trem from pull up period, when expanded all the way to the body.

The block is available separately for a Floyd or Strat trem as well.

Very interesting, it looks odd, but doesn’t a Floyd look odd also?

I’m into the ergo guitars and headless stuff, so it doesn’t look that weird.

PFD, thanks for the breakdown on the benefits. It makes a lot more sense now.

Ibanez went through this 20 years ago; how many ways can we redesign the Floyd Rose?

Something about this I don't like.. can't put a finger on it...

Now I know. Look how small that base plate is.
