Anyone use TK Custom Guitars bodies?

Re: Anyone use TK Custom Guitars bodies?

I'd love to know as well. I'm curious about their necks and bodies as I'm looking to build a partscaster soon.

My experience with guitars and guitar parts has always been "you get what you pay for". That said, I haven't used or seen parts from this company.

Re: Anyone use TK Custom Guitars bodies?

Just to contribute to this thread, I got a soloist body from them last summer and it was excellent, I got another one from them in November, it was a disaster. I'd asked for it to be chambered and they routed them in completely the worng place, it was hollow under the bridge. This was only apparent when the holes for the bridge were drilled, under the laminate there was nothing. They sent an FOC replacement - eventually, but I really am now questioning their QC as the hole for the jack had not been drilled, the cable holes for the pickups - not drilled, the earth cable from the bridge - not drilled and the neck pocket not routed to my specified depth. These things I took a bit of time to put right, but to-day fitting the hipshot bridge, it's apparent that the string through holes should be 8mm further away from the neck pocket so god knows what bridge they think you can fit there as even my Warmoth bridge runs out of adjustment for intonation in that position. So do yourself a favour go to USACG or Warmoth.

Re: Anyone use TK Custom Guitars bodies?

I joined just to chime in on this.
I ordered a neck from TK Custom Guitars February of last year after reading great things here and other places about them.
Tim said it would be about a month or so till they could begin the custom neck I wanted. Everything I had read in forums like this said they were usually busy and kind of slow, but did great work so I didn't worry. I checked up after 30 days and Tim said they should get to it next week.
After almost two months I e-mailed and called...nothing.
Paypal said since it was beyond 45 days they wouldn't do anything. LAME! I think Tim must have known this cause their communication disappeared right at the 45 day mark.
I filed a complaint through my credit card company and they got no response either so they refunded my money.

STAY AWAY FROM TK CUSTOM GUITARS!

I am posting this now because I filled out the custom request form to see if they were still in business and Tim replied right away that they'd love to work on this project.
