Anyone used Ddesigned jm 101s?

Anyone tried these out? Standard on vintage mod squire jmasters and wondering if it's really vintage design and how they sound.

Of all pups it would seem a JM would be hard to screw up, but I'm mainly interested in classic JM tone and wonder how these would compare to sjm1 or antiquities?

Have you checked out the post down the page titled "Duncan Designed" pups-how to tell what they compare to?. Go to post number 6 and click on the link to see which regular Duncan pickup that one is similar to. Great reference for D Designed pu's.

I have a Squier VM JM, but swapped the DDesigned for the SJM-1 set. The lower output is to my ears more vintage sounding than the DDesigned sound.

Thanks Synapsys-
I'm looking for the clean highs, but wouldn't mind a little more body as classic JMs can get shrill with distortion- Would you say the JM101s fit that bill or is it lacking the highs altogether or have other defects?

You can never tell from vid clips, but the antiquity 2 sounds like it has the highs and the body I am looking for- check out the first (pink guitar) in this clip- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4xTMvhMRGoY

Antiquity 2 uses aln5 mags as does the SJM1- does anyone know what the JM101 uses?

Mincer and Zombiwoof- thanks for the link to a great DD thread, but I didn't see JMs listed

Re: Anyone used Ddesigned jm 101s?

I have had very good experiences with both the 101 and 102 models over many years in various guitars. They used to be available on the second hand market quite cheaply and were excellent value for money but you do not see them so much any more. . The 102 bridge benefits , IMHO from having a push pull to give a parallel option . Better clean sounds. I was always disappointed that SD did not market these along with the real thing so you could buy them new. Now ,of course, very budget priced pups which are virtually identical are available from other manufacturers who have probably ripped off Seymour's research and development .

We both directed you to the same link, sorry I didn't check to see if yours was listed there first, but I thought the whole thread might be interesting to you, and it was posted a couple of days prior to you asking.

Well, I've gone and bought a set- price was too good to pass, so will be reporting on jm 101s soon.
Cheers,
