Anyone Using A Tremoline?

Google may not be stalking us, but the Tremoline tremolo ads started popping up on all things Google related today. Tremolines could also be that new as their Homepage notes The New 2025 Tremoline FT36T Original Locking Tremolo System. They appear to be trying to address some of the Floyd Rose features which players find troublesome.

Primarily curious if anyone is using a Tremoline and, if applicable, how you think it compares/contrasts to the Floyd Rose?

For the curious, or those who know what a Kahler Fan I am, I am not considering replacing the Floyd on my HM Strat if the Tremoline ends up being that much better. Maybe buy something else to put a Tremoline in.

I hadn't really looked at the Tremoline, but it does seem to solve some of the issues people have with FR systems. I don't know if what it provides is worth it to 'upgrade', but if you need to replace a non-functioning Floyd, it makes sense.

If they have been around a while, the Tremoline's may be more popular across the pond. Maybe some Bro's from that continent will sound off.

I do need to adapt to the Floyd in my HM Strat. Probably would be a better player had I kept the Evo which was in my Lead II when I got it. But that X-1 Plus that MJ wound is so good in there I am glad I swapped the Evo out.

If there are plenty of good reviews on the Tremoline's, I may limit myself to just that one Floyd.

Aside: I noticed in the demos they seem to prefer decking the middle pickups on the HSS guitars to get those out of the way. :D

You can address all the issues I have with a Floyd with a flush mount NFT model with a zero glide nut and locking tuners

That's what the one and only Stevie Vai has been doing for ever 🙂

I don't get it. The tremoline looks exactly like a Floyd to me. There's a locking nut, a two point trem that the strings lock into with fine tuners, and some springs in the back. What's different?

Some of it is primarily aesthetics. It's flatter, so if you like keeping your hand far back on the bridge, there's nothing in the way. Personally, I have a hard time seeing how this was ever a problem. Hell, I even use the way the base plate on a regular Floyd is designed to do vibratos or slight pull-ups.

Where it seems to actually improve things is the arm retaining system, and mini screws that hold the saddles in place are offset (like on some of the Ibanez Edge models) instead of sitting right underneath the strings. That last part is a pretty significant upgrade IMO.

Price tag seems to hover around $300. Not exactly cheap, admittedly. I think the only other option you have if you want a low profile trem is the Floyd Rose Pro. Those used to be even worse, coming in at around $500. But that was the original made in US model. These days, they're i my available from the 1000 series, and they're actually slightly cheaper than the Tremoline. Provided you can get one, they seem to frequently be out of stock.

Some subtle and some significant changes. Scroll down on their Homepage to see them all, but they make a lot of claims.

I am a 40+ year content with my Kahler's type, who acquired one FR 5 years ago. I am not overly impressed with my FR and likely not the best to highlight Tremoline's claims.
