Anyone want a Marshall?

Re: Anyone want a Marshall?

Someone from here has to buy that! I haven't craved an amp that much since I heard a stramp.

Re: Anyone want a Marshall?

As much love as 1987s and 1959s get...there is something extra special about a cranked 45 for classic rock/blues/blues rock....I cannot explain it...more "raunch". tube recto sag can be annoying if you need something more articulate but still, Very cool amps.

Everyone should have one :bigthumb:

Re: Anyone want a Marshall?

Since it is a JTM45 with kt66's I wonder if you can get that thick Robin Trower sound from it?

Re: Anyone want a Marshall?

I'm with Spina, if you're going to go to the trouble of putting in upgraded caps, why not just drop a complete new tag board into it?

I use the SoZo caps in mine now, but I really can't hear any difference. My days of having dog ears are probably over though. I think there's a certain amount of hype, but hey, they are priced close to the Mallory 150's, so why not use them. US-made as well. I know they're supposed to break in. So, maybe I'm just not keeping the amps long enough.
