Anyone want to have a go at this?

Re: Anyone want to have a go at this?

the chris - very cool bluesy groove you had there ... definitely needs to be boosted in the mix so we can crank that thang!

soulman - nice take on the matter ... i thought the tone cut through real well, and even when you changed pups it kept a cool vibe going

nuntius - as always, stellar chops .. but this time, the two guitars were just too different in the mix ... it didnt create the illusion of two players playing at the same time ... the acoustic part had a lovely immediacy and organic imperfection that was very engaging ... but the electric part, albeit it quite impressive in isolation (tone, note selection, execution), just didnt seem to draw me into the track as a whole

still cool to hear so many interpretations

cheers

yeah the whole thing was a bit too freestyle with no direction

i might go take a shot at the real track tomorrow morning, its 5 past midnight now lol

Re: Anyone want to have a go at this?

anyway, it was my first ever shot at a track that actually changes key and isn't a powerchord/pretty simple chord structure-fest.

i've listened back a few times and your right, the electric part is pretty bland.

ah well, i can only (hopefully) get better at this kinda style. i like it, but it doesnt suit me.. as in i dont see myself wanting to produce albums of that kinda stuff.
