Anyone with two Vapor Trails?

I love the Catalina Chorus which includes using it in stereo. The problem is the Vapor Trails is in mono. Thinking about getting a 2nd Vapor Trials so I can out a gentle delay for both channels. Anyone try this yet. With the blinking lights I should be able to get them pretty close. Wonder if I could do ping pong delay as well?

Re: Anyone with two Vapor Trails?

Vapor Trails is great, but you might be better off going with something else if you want to go stereo. A TC Electronic Flashback or Alter Ego would be great options for good stereo delays.

Running two mono delays without tap tempo would give me a headache trying to mesh everything together, but you might find it works out great for you. Different strokes for different blokes.

Re: Anyone with two Vapor Trails?

Thanks for your reply, digital delays are too clean for me. Thinking maybe a Boss Waza for a slightly cleaner analog flavor. Not trying to really ping pong but just a laid back delay in the background

Re: Anyone with two Vapor Trails?

Syncing up 2 Vapor Trails for ping pong is going to take a bit, and it is always going to be at least a little off, depending on how long the delay is. A stereo digital delay with a lot of parameters to tweak (like TC's Toneprint editor) will get you away from the clean sound of digital.

Re: Anyone with two Vapor Trails?

It's pricey, but the Bellwether delay from Walrus Audio is all analog, stereo, with tap tempo. The Digitech Obscura is similar to the TC delay in that it's digital, but with options for non-digital sounds.

Re: Anyone with two Vapor Trails?

I had two Vapor Trails. I set one for a short, one for a long delay. I have since moved on to digital delay. If you want stereo delay, go ahead and buy one unit that can do it all - much less of a headache. The Source Audio Nemesis would be a good candidate, for sure. See The Gear Page for tons of info on that pedal.

Re: Anyone with two Vapor Trails?

stereo works best in the studio. For live work, mono all the way.
fwiw tho..the boss waza has stereo outs. Ive never used the two outs, but it is a lovely sounding delay.
The other one you might like is the old SD deja vu delay. It has plenty of options for mono, stereo, dry and wet outs. Nice BBD analog tone too plus tap tempo.

I believe the two outputs on the DM-2w are dry and wet. (That's how they are on my DM-3)
