APH-2 Slash tryout

Hi bros,

Recorded this instrumental cover of Nightrain.

Used my Tokai Love Rock - its loaded with a set of Slash's and sounds great. All sounds are made with Guitar Rig 5, on plexi setting. Double tracked the guitars and tried to vary my playing a bit, so it wasn't completely stiff. Left side guitar is cleaner and has less mids than the right side :) Hope you enjoy it, I tried to capture that single coil-ish attack these have, and I think I got it ok. Sorry for crappy playing, I know my timing is off at times etc and the solos are quick improvs, tried to record this for the vibe and sounds, not the playing.

Hope you enjoy it :)

Thank you's. I know I suck, but I try to at least sound good :)

Great job on the tone! I think that is a nice chewy spongy tone. Great smooth rock bite! Not too 'Plexi' to me, not quite enough grainyness, but still a cool tone. You did well for a digital plugin.
Keep it up! And keep working on that timing! :) Its really really really important. Your on your way to great things bro! :cool3: Cheers!

Yeah it aint too plexi, these digital plugins do good high gain sounds, but those oldschool amps are kinda iffy. For a solution that allows me to practice at 2AM and record for cheap, its great though :) And you can play with a ton of effects, without having to buy pedals :)

Its weird about my timing. I have days when its right in the pocket, and others where I am sort of stumbling around, like in this one. I guess it relates to stress. When I am relaxed its all straightforward, but after a long day like yesterday, its harder to get into the relaxed state of mind, that I find is necessary to really cut lose and play :)

Thanks for listening :)
