I have a client with a nice MIM Fender Jazz Bass. It has a factory preamp and the original pickups were humbucking (stacked). The bridge pickup died from an open coil and the replacement OEM pickup has been backordered for over five months. I recommended to the client that he stay with a humbucking pickup with the thought that a cheaper single coil pickup might be comparatively noisy - especially with the preamp. On behalf of my client I'm looking at the SD Apollo bridge pickup as a suitable replacement. Any reason why this would be a bad idea?
