Apple lightning to Midi connector.

I am wondering if anyone has used a midi connection on their iPad. I am using my Parker more, and I was thinking of downloading a soft/synth on the iPad, going midi direct from the Parker and going Bluetooth out to the powered speaker. It seems it would work in theory, but I am wondering what people's experiences with midi to iPad have been like and best practices.

I'd worry more about the latency of Bluetooth when transmitting. I'd assume MidiAxe to softsynth would work well (and there are great softsynths out there).

My daughter uses a midi controller into an iPad to play aux keys at church so I’m familiar with the setup. Bluetooth latency is a no go like Mincer anticipated. So you have to use a cable. Other than that, it’s great. Also, depending on the age of your iPad, you gotta figure out how to power it. We use the camera adaptor to connect usb to the midi and lightning to charger.

Use strain relief on the Lighting connector -maybe stick a ty wrap mount on the Ipad and tie wrap the cable.

Lightings break easy and this may avoid that issue.

Yes, I saw that adaptor on Amazon for $10. I figured it couldn't be that simple. I am going to give it a shot. I will go headphone out on the iPad to the speaker as suggested. My iPad is brand new, so I am not worried about the battery lasting the entire show and more.

Awesome. Have fun!
