ARAB (new clip)

kinda....interesting. a bit too short but one of my tightest clips...amazing what a couple of weeks with a metronome does

mic'd and instruments and stuff:
duo-sonic -> guild Maverick amp open back 2x10 -> AKG mic and cheap philips mic
on all tracks

akg was close mic'd in front....probably an inch up from the center and half an inch left. the philips mic that i got for five bucks at goodwill was put behind the amp to catch the freq coming out the back. the phillips mic was set lower than the AKG in the mix. I'm VERY happy with the results...soundclick compressed it a good bit, so it kinda lost a lot of its depth but its still pretty good

rofl, you know it. right along with isreal k'waiasdfjl;ksdjf

you know

I really don't know what you're talking about at this point.

Back on topic. What style of music were you intending that to be? It has a pretty eerie sound to it.

ah, i was talking about that somewhere over the rainbow song by that big Hawaiian dude...first name is Israel....ukelele playing...idk

I was intending a very eerie feel. i just picked hawaiian traditional for the hell of it, thats just a place where i throw random stuff up.

very solid time ... the tone is real nice too - clean and warm ... the melody is a bit stiff and unrelenting though ... try mixing up your phrases some ... leave some space ... maybe syncopate part of the line or something ... dont forget to let the piece breathe some

nice work - better than just about anything ive heard from you - youre clearly going in the right direction

yeah, in this particular clip I was trying to get a building feel that really with two different "melodies" kind of butting heads...idk how well i accomplished it

Re: ARAB (new clip)

Cool! That was different, but a) the mix was pretty good and B) nice messing of the different parts. They each said something but all fit the theme.
Im struggling to write multiple parts. Keep up the good work
