Are all Gibson P90’s the same by year?

Are all the Gibson P90 pickups the same or did they wind them differently for a Les Paul Junior than for a hollow body jazz guitar? So if I buy a used one do I have to consider what guitar model the P90 came from? I would love to put one in the neck position of my Epiphone Casino Coupe for traditional jazz. I wonder if It would fit in the space. I don’t keep a pickguard on the guitar so that wouldn’t be an issue.

What era are you talking about??

Because the construction changed just the same way that the humbuckers over history did.
But they didn't have different models until the 70's when the hot pickup bit took hold - and even then you might have found the p90's being exempt as they were only in one or two special guitars.

Of late the p90's are all the same and don't even have a calibration for neck and bridge models.

Thanks, that is what I was after . So which model Gibson P90’s were given “Hot” style P 90s and what does that mean in terms of tone? I realize it imlpies louder, and I guess it means more treble and more harshness than “normal” P90s or “less polite” as they say.

You might have found something in the 80's wound a bit hotter - but as I said I doubt the hot wind extended to the p90. But why trawl the net for the unicorn, when you are posting on the forum of a winder that does these now.....readily available without having to wait.
Unless you are buying 50s or 60's p90s, you'll find the Duncan wind far outshines the overpriced Gibson ones.

I'm sure there are minor variations and fluctuations, but all in all - I never met a Gibson P-90 tat made me go "What is that?"

Exception: P100's - which are NOT P-90's although they look like them. Stacked Humbucking P90 that sounds very little like a P90 to me.

Well, in my humble opinion the Gibsons actually sound better than the two SD pickups, but we probably have different tastes.:

Well, of course I don't know what tone you are after, and maybe its my speakers - but the recorded tone of all of those sounded dull and flat and quite similar. So there's obviously something you want that is not about the typical zing that a great p90 has in a blues/rock perspective.

But you still seem unwilling to elaborate about what you want, and rather are just fishing and seeming hoping the rest of us can guess what you're after.

Sorry. I should have specified that I am after only a clean traditional jazz tone derived from a p90 neck pickup on my beloved Epi Casino Coupe.
Set tone at 7 and volume 3-5.
Solid state amp: Polytone brute.
Strings 10-50

usually a low wind will work well.

Current ones are all the same at about 8k +/- which is not too dissimilar to the K rating of old ones. But of course they are much less lively than old p90's

No numbers......but why were you expecting them??

I have a LP Special with p90’s.
Mine are not dog ears like you posted but I’m sure they are the same pickup.
IMO, the Gibson neck pickup sounds fantastic for both clean and dirty tones.
The bridge is a little more raw than I typically like but that said, it’s not a humbucker and I can’t expect it to perform like one. For what it is, it sounds great....just different.

But back to your OT... I think the Gibson pickup will suit you just fine. Unfortunately I can’t specifically answer the question as to “were they all the same over the years”.
But as stated, don’t discount the other winders offerings based on YouTube videos alone. There are lots of great pickups that will do what you want them to in that guitar. And that Gibson pickup at $85 isn’t that good of a deal. You should be able to grab a used aftermarket pickup for about $50.

Besides, the eBay listing you posted above is for a bridge pickup not a neck pickup.
