Are all of your guitars 100%?

Not 100%, but most are ready to rock.

I have an Ovation which needs the neck reset.
My backup SSS Strat needs new pots - Deoxit will no longer clean them out.
Probably 3 or 4 of my Les Pauls would need new strings, but I've been playing my remaining Fenders and they're ready to go.

Edit: I forgot to note this is out of 27...PLUS 2 pawn shop acoustic blues rescues which I don't want to do anything to other than keep them playing as is. If condition matters, most are players although I've managed to not abuse 2 of the 3 I picked up in 2020.

I've got one that needs rewiring (self built and I didn't do a great job) and I've that is missing the nut that holds the output jack in place, but otherwise I think everything is in fully working order.

Running at about 90%
I have one bass that needs some soldering done on it.

All of my instruments are playable.

one guitar has a ground buzz when not playing that annoys me and is a hassle to fix. My others are superior instruments, so it’s not a big deal.

I'm at maybe 85% out of 30 something guitars.... have 2 needed nuts carved I haven't got around to, one needs a neck shim, one is without electronics etc.

and I don't have any without dings or that are mint either -they are all players

-I wouldn't trust people who just collect guitars to display in a case or on a wall.

Have you thought about doing the refret yourself? That chinese superstrat I bought has had a couple levels and is at the point I don't want to go any lower. It could use a refret and I'm going to attempt it myself. If I mess it up, I can just buy it a new neck.

I guess a 1982 strat is not a good guitar to practice your first refret.

Never done one, much less SS frets, on a fretted maple neck I have to spray, on a vintage instrument. I will leave that to a pro, and have an easier life.

I prefer to only own 2 guitars at a time and both battle-ready, but I now have three because none have a sale value anywhere near their sentimental value. With three I don't care if one is out of commission but all three are good to go and have been for a long time.
But I keep thinking about a re-do on one of them so who knows?

I have 5 whole guitars currently, any of which may need a change of strings but otherwise are in perfect playing condition.

Excluding those, one that needs a lot of work - varios smaller jobs and re-routing and re-drilling for a new bridge - but will probably not get that completed for quite some time due to practicalities, and I have a parts build in progress.

All my guitars are gig ready (even though I'm more a bedroom player these days) and don't have any major work to be done. I try to keep the strings fresh on all of them, even if I do play more than others. But the herd continues to grow and grow...

I have 13-guitars and all but one is 100%. The one that is no Bueno is a 1960's 12 string acoustic that needs to have the neck reset to correct its break angle. I am debating whether I really want to invest that kind of money or just refretting it with taller frets? The break angle isn't so bad that it can't be played, but it is in need of definite attention. All my other guitars are ready to grab and go sans a set of new strings perhaps.

I tend to cycle through guitars. I have about 5 or 6 that sit out and I will grab them semi-randomly to play. Every year or so, I will exchange one or two for other guitars in my collection. I have doubled the number of guitars I own in the past 5 years or so and it is kind of nice having so many options. I started building guitars which has fast-tracked most of that acquisition!

... I think so.

The last year or so has been a crazy binge/purge of gear, so it wouldn’t surprise me if I said yes, then got home and found something I’d forgotten about.

For instance, one of my basses may need the pots wired. And my Ibanez 7 string is rigged with one pickup, no controls, and a Jack plate I made out of a random piece of plastic.

I have to replace the pickups on my Epiphone Wildkat,
aswell as the knobs. (I melted two of them with a soldering iron. Don't do drugs, kids!) :)

Also thinking about some minor mods, since it will be the last guitar I own (hopefully). I.e. I'd like to replace the plastic rear rout covers with wooden ones, and have my name engraved on em.
But that's off topic. :)

I have many projects, but instead of working on them I play a working guitar instead. I should start fixing one guitar a day and I'll be done by spring, maybe?
