Looking to get chimey tones from a strat into a fender twin reverb. Which if these pups do you think would do the job better? Or do you recomend something completely dif?

For the chimey-est of chimey, look at the SSL-1 or SSL-2. I would use different adjectives to describe any of the other single coils. The Vintage ones have the market on chime, though.

Thanks, man. Hey mincer, in your opinion would it make sense for me to put ssl1's in the neck/middle and a hendrix in the bridge?

That isn't a bad idea at all! However, I am pretty sure the Hendrix is only available as a set.

I found somewhere that has a set of ssls and a single hendrix bridge. I should be good to go. I'll let you know how it goes. A very special NGD happening in a couple weeks!!

Can't wait to hear about this project (and see pics!).

I tried the hendrix pups and I really didn't find them chimey at all. For chime, I whip out my strat with Nordstrand singlecoils or with AxesRUs singles. So much more chime (and better tone all over) than the SSL1 or SSL2 and even the BKP Mother's milk. Tried 'm all, but the Nordstrands and AxesRUs are my winners. hands down.

I would think these are going to be very different pickups. The Hendrix pickups would be scooped and lower wind I think. The Mothers' Milk is like a late 50s pickup, and would probably be a little chimier.

In either event, I agree with Mincer that the SSL-1 is money for those tones, and notably, they (not the Mothers' Milk) are what Frusciante uses in his guitars.
