Are Fender Deluxe Ash Strats Swamp Ash or Northern Hard Ash?

I don't know what the specs say.
some Fender models - the (US made) James Burton sig model, for instance - will say "lightweight swamp ash"
if a model doesn't spec lightweight ash, you can bet that the weight will vary a lot
I returned a custom ordered EBMM Albert Lee because the specs say "6.5 lbs, varies slightly", and the guitar weighed 8.1 lbs.

Modern strats are lightweight Ash, although I don't know if that means they're necessarily Swamp Ash. The heavy ash strats from the 70's were Northern hard ash, which is why they were so painfully bright. More sustain, but less resonance, which is a matter of personal preference.
