Are multifx pedals circuitry safe when combined with other pedals

Just wondering,

bec some multifx pedals effects sounds too digital

Asking the electronics gurus or anyone,

Is it 100% safe for a Multifx pedal circuitry, if you add or combine them with other pedals in a signal chain,

bec multi fx pedals like the Vox tonelab, Zoom g2, g7 are usually stand alone devices.

Can I put other effect pedals After the multifx,

Just an example :D

Guitar ---> Zoom G2.1u ----> MXR chorus ---> Big Muff ----> etc

or before the multifx

Guitar -----> Crybaby ---> MXR Distortion ----> Zoom g2.1u ----> Amp

or in any order

Guitar ---> Crybaby ---> Zvex Distortron ---> Zoom g2.1u ----> EHX chorus ---> Cool cat vibe -----> etc

or can you combine 2 or 3 Multi FX pedals without harming there respective circuitry

Just an example :D

Guitar ----> Zoom G2.1u ----> Vox Tonelab ----> Boss GT-10 ----> Amp
(because I sometimes prefer their individual FX combined with individual FX of other multi fx)

Will it harm the circuitry of a multifx if I combine them with other effect pedals in any order
...... or with other multi fx

Is there such a thing as putting too much Stress (high signal input/output) to a pedal that would messed up its circuitry and components in the long run,

excluding the use of a wrong power supply

thanks :)

I don't see why it would be a problem.

Re: Are multifx pedals circuitry safe when combined with other pedals

yes
yes
yes
yes
...and yes...you can run any pedal...multi effetcs pedal...wah pedal...distortion pedal...rack unit...reverb tank...tape echo...whatever you want in any order you want with whatever else you want...

Re: Are multifx pedals circuitry safe when combined with other pedals

^^This. Note that the only way you can damage a pedal, from what I know, is to physically hurt it, or using the wrong kind of power supply. That would be my concern, as the interaction between the pedals themselves is nothing to worry about.

Your pedals are safe, stop worrying about it, play around with your signal chain and have fun!

The only way you can really damage your effects pedals is by plugging in improper power supplies into them (watch out for polarity).

Edit: ****, TGWIF beat me to it, good man :D

Thanks :D

Just making sure that my pedal circuits are always safe :D

thanks guys.

a Fulltone Gt-500 could probably blow out the input of some digital device if you cranked both sides of it and ran it into it - but why would anyone want to do that? ;)

Re: Are multifx pedals circuitry safe when combined with other pedals

I'm currently running the Vox ToneLab LE.....I run my wah straight into the input of the ToneLab,plus I use an Ibanez TS 808 and a Marshall Jackhammer into the ToneLab..Works great,gives me that quick stomp onto either an added overdrive or distortion pedal into a clean preset...The answer to your question again then,would be yes..

Most of the problems folks have with effects pedals,is because of a power supply failure....Wrong voltage,wrong tip orientation,and just using the wrong power adapter can screwup a pedal..

Re: Are multifx pedals circuitry safe when combined with other pedals

I'll make this very simple:

The only thing you CAN'T plug into a pedal is a speaker output. That will definitely kill the pedal, and probably the amp too.

Anything else is fine.

yeh,but...... your tonelab LE has a EFX loop, most dont,..I tried distortion boxes into my Rocktron Utopias clean model and it sounded crap.
None the less, it wont harm the multi unit
maybe other people have had better luck with other units

Re: Are multifx pedals circuitry safe when combined with other pedals

The only thing i wouldn't do is run a really really really hot boost pedal before the multiFX. You may have to turn down the input gain of the multiFX box if you're running distortion/boost pedals in front of it.

Re: Are multifx pedals circuitry safe when combined with other pedals

I run two effects pedals into my multi-effects unit with great results, much better than just using the multi-effects unit. I run Visual Sound Jeckyl and Hyde into Visual Sound Route 66 into Line 6 XT Live.

Re: Are multifx pedals circuitry safe when combined with other pedals

i got one for ya

Gibson EB-0 -- Big Muff Pi -- Crybaby -- Vox Tonelab -- Big Muff Pi -- Digitech RP70 -- Line6 DL-4 -- Marshall Major full stack with the speaker out going to a Fender Telecaster plugged into a Line 6 M-13 -- GT-10 -- Digitech Death Metal into a Twin

Re: Are multifx pedals circuitry safe when combined with other pedals

your OK!
The digitech RP1000 I have has a seperate loop just for outboard pedals,which really sounds great and you can also bypass the amp modellings in the processor,and just use the effects with your outboard pedals great idea.
