Time will tell. I'll let you all know how it turns out. If so, I'll ebay the bridge pup and drop in the JB I pulled from the Hardtail and replaced with the CC.
Only pedal I use is a chorus every now and again. I had a CC that would feedback and had to be returned to SD for an exchange. I was told that issue was due to improper was potting, so I figured since the Seth Lover isn't was potted, it'd feedback.Stevo said:

i can have the gain and master volume on my jcm 800 both at 7 and can control the feedback without much trouble.even a couple feet away as long as im not facing the amp and cab.i also have a hotrod 50 soldano and agin its pretty controllable.jason

Don't sell them if you get any feedback that bothers you. Just send them to MJ. She's got an ultra-low temperature wax potting tank that can get the job down without hosing the vintage butyrate (sp?) bobbins.
I and other believe that this lack of wax potting is what gives them their honk! I've had two sets so far and never had an uncontrollable feedback issue. But when you want some of that good old Ted Nugent controlled feedback thing, these pups are very easy to pull that off with as well.

I would say no. Certainly no more so than the 1000's of Gibson humbuckers made between 1957 and modern times that were not wax potted either.... many of which are now worth a small fortune! The Seth in my Hamer Monoco is not feedback prone.
Seems to me that most of the feedback problems guys have occur not so much onstage but when they're standing facing towards thier amps at home or at rehearsal. So don't do that. :laugh2:
The wax potting thing is a fairly recent development. None of the old pafs or patent number Gibson humbuckers made throughout the late 50's and 60's were wax potted. Nor were the pafs Ted Nugent uses, unless they were wax potted at a later date. I sold him some of the late 50's pafs he uses...I took them out of a late 50's ES-350 like the one Chuck Berry used to play and sold them to Ted for his Byrdland.
I would never do that these days, :smack: but that was over 30 years ago.

I have played an LP with Seths through a 50w Marshall Jubilee at loud gigging volumes for a couple of years and had absolutely no problems with unwanted feedback / squealing. I don't play with particularly high gain though (think Lizzy / Free / Zep). I'm sure the lack of potting contributes to the Mojo - the APH-1s I just put in my other LP are great pickups too, but there is some extra magic to the Seths.
