Are the Suhr Aldrich a good alternative for the EMGs 81/85?

I know the 81 is ceramic vs the Aldrich with Alnico V, but im talking about having enough output.

I also know the 81 is quite unique but i just dont want to go the active route again and i heard good opinions about the Aldrich humbuckers.

btw the guitar would be a Les Paul Custom thru a JCM 800.

Dimarzio D activators or Lace Drop N Gain would be better. More power and gain.

The Aldrich is like a tweaked JB that's beefier/hotter with a bigger, bolder, yet slightly less spongy low-end. I'd say it's similar (loosely speaking) to the 81 in that there's a cutting high-mid emphasis, but otherwise, I'd say it resembles the 85 more. JMO.

It's hot. Slightly hotter than the JB. Probably not as hot as the 81, but not too far off either.

Definitely look at the Dactivator. The bridge model is the closest sound to the 81 in a passive that I've encountered.
