Are There Any Good Alternatives To DeoxIT For Cleaning Pots?

I don't really know where to look locally for finding DeoxIT. Maybe I could find it at some electrical supply places? I know Radio Shack has it, but they only sell a two pack now, and one of the cans is for gold or something. Has anyone ever tried CRC 2-26 (or anything else) and had good results?

You want a contact cleaner. I've used the cleaner I got from Carquest for years & it's worked well. PN is CCM 1040

A Napa store would likely have something similar, too.

Probably the electrical supply. There's probably some good alternatives out there, but deoxit did the job for me when 3 others couldn't. Spend the money once.

Jolly I just buy the Radio shack spray cans for 10.00. I have two on m my work bench at home & one in my gig bag. It works fine. I've never used or needed Deoxit. Not saying it doesn't work, I'm sure it does, but Radio shack spray contact cleaner is all I have ever used.

Not all contact cleaner is created equal.

If you can get it buy DeoxIT.

Check some electrical supply places...not for like commercial wiring but like computer/radio.

Deoxit is wonderful stuff...I usually pick up a can each year at the guitar show.A large sized can of Deoxit lasts me an awful long time though..

You can buy rheostat cleaner at Radio Shack.

Never tried Deoxit. What does everyone use? The Contact Cleaner, The Fader Lubricant, or the Gold stuff?

I use the Radio Shack TV tuner cleaner.......

Go for the Gold...

I haven't been able to find a Radio Shack that stocks tuner cleaner in years but I think that the DeoxIT is better for the pots being cleaned.
