I had these brought for me as a birthday present after moaning that I'd wanted a set for years.. But they was purchased through amazon and I was instantly suspicious as I had never seen this box before.. The pickups look the real deal but the packaging really has me concerned.. Are these the real deal? Thanks in advance for any help

You could always email Duncan with these pics and check there too.

All the boxes I’ve seen look like this one, but yours appear to be 2019, so they could have changed the package this year, for example if they lost the right to show his face on the package.

I dunno about the packaging, but the pickups themselves look legit, all the fakes ive seen have issues with the stickers on the bottom that can be spotted pretty easily.

I saw something last nite, I clicked on a link from here to Slash's site and it had this artwork on it vs the photo of Slash.

Re: Are these genuine? Alnico aph2 slash

So I manged to find an hour spare today in my crazy life as a new father to set about putting these in, I haven't even had a chance to play it yet due to me forgetting I was on a date night with the wife going to see toy story 4 :s

2 Big questions before I finish the install and setup tomorrow,
Have I put these in the right way up? This had me bamboozled for ages and I'm still not 100%,

Also I took the scratch plate off to do a proper clean and polish and think I prefer the guitar without it! Put it back or leave it off?

Typically screw coils should be outside; toward the neck for the neck and toward the bridge for the bridge. Normally that puts the creme bobbins either inside or outside. Interesting it looks like the Slash set has one pickup reverse zebra so the creme bobbins end up the same way.

For me, with all the creme rings, creme binding, creme switch plate, etc, I like the pickguard on. But many rockers here prefer no guard, and sometimes no switch plate with that.

Slash has one zebra and one reverse zebra in his Derrig LP copy.
