Are these two cracks on side of neck an issue?

[SUP][/SUP]I just picked up this used set-neck Epi LP guitar from G.C. - I've got the 30 day review period to make my decision. Are either of the two cracks in the side of the neck pic going to propogate or be any kind of problem over time?

If your talking about the cracks in the binding I don't think your guitar is in any danger but usually what causes it is the guitar gets dry in the winter and damp I. The summer the binding will flex with it to a point then it can crack

Keep your guitar in a stable environment and you can stop it. This time of year I have a humidifier running to keep the air at about 45 to 50% humidity. They play better and they stay in tune better too

Excellent, thanks!

The clear over the join has cracked...and probably just kept going.

What guitar is that?? - ok, just read the first post properly....not seen that on an epi but still seems ok.

Don't listen to those guys. Your guitar is now no good. Send it to me right away. I'll give you 50 dollars just to use it as a wall ornament. J/K dude.
Actually, I think the neck joint does look to have been stressed at some point, rather than what others said ( that its only just natural aging of the binding), but its hard to say definitiveley IMO.

You'll take a huge hit on resell value, that's for sure.

Could be that the previous owner used to flex the neck to get a tremolo effect. Not very good on the binding or the neck joint.
